 Prospective Graduate Students:

·         Ph.D. Program in Ecology and Evolution.  Please check the Department of Ecology and Evolution main web site for information about our graduate program.  I you are interested in applying to our program, please contact Dr. Padilla by email (Dianna.Padilla@sunysb.edu).  Dr. Padilla prefers to talk with prospective students, so please plan for a follow-up telephone conversation.  Students interested in any aspect of research covered by the Padilla Lab are encouraged to apply.  Please note, we do not offer a Masters degree in Ecology and Evolution

 

·         MS and Ph.D. Program in Marine Sciences.  Please check the School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences (SoMAS) and the Marine Sciences Research Center (MSRC).  Dr Padilla is a joint faculty with SoMAS and MSRC and advises students in these programs.  Please check the course requirements and focus of these programs.  I you are interested in applying to one of these programs, please contact Dr. Padilla by email.  Dr. Padilla prefers to talk with prospective students, so please plan for a follow-up telephone conversation.  Students interested in any aspect of research covered by the Padilla Lab are encouraged to apply.

 

Undergraduates:

·         Undergraduate Research for credit.  There are many opportunities for students to become involved in research in the lab for credit.  Credit follows as for a lab course (~3 hrs in the lab per week per credit hour).  If you are interested in earning research credit, please contact Dr. Padilla by email and include: an unofficial copy of transcripts, a list of topics that you are interested in, the year you are in your program, your major, and how many hours of credit you would like to receive.  There are opportunities during the academic year as well as during the summer.

·         Senior Thesis or Honors Thesis Research.  If you are interested in conducting Senior Thesis or Honors Thesis research, please contact Dr. Padilla by email.  Include your expected graduation time, the area of research that interests you, and when you would like to conduct research.

·         Federal Work Study – During the academic year and during the summer there are positions available for students with Federal Work Study.  Please contact Dr. Padilla by email if you have Work Study support and are interested in working in her lab.
